AT FOOD ATTRACTION THE EXCELLENCE OF ITALIAN CUISINE

.From 17th to 20th February Rimini expo centre is once again hosting the Italian Cuisine Championship of the FIB (Italian Barman Federation) a contest between 500 chefs
from every region of Italy and FIC foreign delegations.
New this year: the Grand Prix of Mediterranean Cuisine and the Ragazzi Speciali Contest in addition to the Metro 3rd Trophy for the Best Hotel School Pupil.
On Monday 19th February the first Burger Battle between six chefs from the same number of Italian hamburger restaurants

Rimini, 12th February 2018 . Hot cuisine, cold cuisine, pastry for food service, artistic cuisine. But above all Italian cuisine, with the best of Italian-made food. At Food Attraction, the special section dedicated to products and technology for the Ho.re.ca. sector at Beer Attraction (17-20 February at Rimini expo centre, organized by Italian Exhibition Group), the Italian Cuisine Championships organized by the Italian Federation of Chefs, are back. For the second consecutive year, the FIC, Italy´s member of the World Association of Chefs Societies, will bring its most prestigious event to Rimini, attracting more than 1500 cuisine professionals and over 500 competing chefs to the expo centre, who will fight it out in Italy´s most complete competition of the culinary art.
In the competition area (Hall A7), four kitchens will be set up and equipped for the team competitions and six work areas for individual contests.

Two contests are dedicated to youngsters: the Metro trophy for the ´Best Hotel School Pupil´ and the ´Ragazzi Speciali Contest´, which will also feature the students on the centre stage with differentiated programming.

Among the other new features at the 2018 event, also organized by the FIC, the Grand Prix of Mediterranean Cuisine, a contest with an international slant that will feature the national teams of three foreign countries (Cyprus, Spain and Slovenia) preparing menus based on the typical ingredients of Mediterranean cuisine: pasta, tomato purée, extra-virgin olive oil and citrus fruit. A competition that has the patronage and support (and it´s no coincidence) of two brands that are symbols of Italian tradition abroad: Barilla and Cirio.

In the National Italian Food Year, proclaimed by the Ministries for Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies and for Cultural Heritage and Tourism, the Championships of Italian Cuisine will be an extraordinary showcase for the excellent regional products of culinary art. During the four days of Food Attraction, the menus prepared by the chefs from the various Italian regions will be able to be tasted along with the beers in the Italian Taste Restaurant, whose sponsors of which are: Forst beer, Antoniana beer, Theresianer beer, Hausbrandt coffee, Fonte Plose and Rastal. Over 250 menus based on regional ingredients will be served every day and submitted in tasting sessions to the juries (26 international judges - recognized by the World Association of Chefs Societies) - and to the public, required to judge the proposals also as far as service is concerned, while a jury made up of food & wine journalists on the national scenario will decide each day´s winner of the Premio della Critica Giornalistica (press critics award).

Simultaneously, the central area of the hall reserved for the Italian Cuisine Championship Championships will host the Mystery Box Contest, a spectacular contest with direct on-stage clashes between the teams. The contestants will prepare recipes in four portions with the surprise products in the basket, and will be obliged to use at least five ingredients.
The competing teams will also be required to present tables of cold cuisine, while it will be possible to admire the entries for the Artistica 2018 contest, which will be on display.

Giropizza, Europe´s most famous Pizza competition is also back at Beer Attraction. On Monday 19th February, in the Pizza Arena, 30 pizza cooks will fight it out with flour, mozzarella and tomato to win the title of Pizza Champion.

There will also be a new edition of the International Street Food Championship with Europe´s best chefs competing in the art of Street Food to win first place in the categories of best filled roll/hamburger/calzone, best first course and best dessert.

Among the events organized by exhibiting firms, there is the eagerly awaited BURGER BATTLE. Unilever Food Solutions with Hellmann´s, the world´s most famous dressing brand, Lantmännen Unibake, leader in the production of rolls for gourmet hamburgers and Baldi Carni, the Marches company that invented the Angusburger, will organize on Monday 19th February the first Italian edition of the Burger Battle. A real challenge to the last burger, featuring six chefs from Italian hamburger restaurants: Pizburg from Novate Milanese, Opificio Vescovio from Rome, RobY from Reggio Calabria, Hamburger Paisàni from Aversa, Paradise Playcenter from Monsano in the province of Ancona and Belle Epoque, Ministry of Quality from Porto San Giorgio in the province of Fermo.
